You know what? Fuck that.

Heroes go home with the Prom Queen. Heroes create their own destiny. Heroes absolutely love what they do for a living. Heroes do not apologize for being who they are.

Take Control Of Your Lifestyle

I wholeheartedly believe that most people who aspire to be traders don’t really want the money. They want the freedom and options that the money can provide.

They want to enjoy their lives, raise their kids properly, not have to answer to a boss, hang out with people who are actually interesting and/or see more of the world.

There are also other people who love their day jobs, but just want to create some extra income and security.

That’s totally cool too.

My point is that successful trading can give you a choice. Otherwise you are stuck with what others decide you should have.

Heroic Trading…

…is not just about making a crapload of money.

And it’s not a super secret automated trading system what will make you money while you sleep, with no effort.

Heroic Trading is a holistic approach to successful trading.

As you know, trading is a very psychological game. So we need to figure out not only how to get your trading system worked out, but how to keep your life balanced, your body fit and your mind sharp, so you perform at your very best…every single time you sit down in front of the screens.

And it is work. Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you some snake oil…or live Bob Marley concert tickets. Anything worthwhile in this life does require work.

Luckily, you have this community to help you on your quest.

But what if you don’t have a finance degree? Neither do I…

My Background

I had a lot of fun at parties and went surfing and snowboarding a lot in college, but I didn’t learn much else that was useful.

What did happen was that during my Senior year in college, I read 42 books on trading and almost didn’t graduate because those books were more interesting than Advanced Microbiology or Statistics for Scientists, could ever be.

After graduation, I went on to get jobs as:

IT Consultant
Assistant at the trading desk of a Hedge Fund
Financial Reporting Analyst
Website Designer/Programmer

Yes, you could probably care less. I’m not telling you this to bore you, but merely to illustrate the point that we can learn a lot of things on our own and become just as good or better than people who actually went to school for it.

This goes for trading too. I never took a Finance class during my Undergraduate Degree.

However, I have studied on my own and learned from my Trading Heroes about what it takes to become a professional trader. I’m not there yet, but I believe in myself and I know I can do it.

That is how this blog was started and as it continues to grow I see a huge opportunity to turn this into a resource for not just trading, but as a way to create The Trading Lifestyle and help people like you have a choice as to how you live your life.

Q: Is Forex a scam?

A: No, it is the largest trading market in the world and at one time, could only be traded by banks or individuals with a lot of money. Like with any market where making money is involved, people will try to make a quick buck and you just have to be careful and do your research when it comes to buying courses, investments and products.

Q: Why trade Forex and not stocks, bonds, options or horses?

A: In my opinion, Foreign Exchange is the best retail trading market in the world! There are a lot of advantages to trading Forex, including: tremendous liquidity, smaller trade sizes, no commissions and horses shit all over the place.

Q: You claim to have a Japanese background, but you are the same height as most guards in the NBA, how is that possible?

A: I’m not really sure. The current theory is that there is a Russian hiding in our family tree a few generations back. But I like Scotch and not Vodka, so that theory is not really holding much alcohol at the moment.

Q: Aren’t you afraid to post all of your trading results?

A: In the financial markets, transparency is the key. There are a lot of people who talk about trading but very few who are willing to show what they are actually doing and their track record.

Anyone can SAY that they make 40% a month, but where is the proof?!
