Hello Fellow Trader,

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Hugh Kimura and I want to become a professional independent trader.

I first started learning about trading as a senior in college after I read Market Wizards by Jack Schwager. I then proceeded to read every book I could on the subject and opened my first stock trading account.

Needless to say, I was a terrible stock picker and lost most of my money, even at the height of the dot com boom!

After that, I tried everything. I traded futures, options and mutual funds.

I even got a job at a hedge fund that did bond arbitrage. That was really cool because I got to sit at the trading desk and even helped with some of the trades during the bond auctions. The people there were a lot of fun and I learned about the hedge fund business from the inside. But bonds bored me.

I had a little bit of success trading mutual funds but it didn’t excite me. I was still looking for a market that I enjoyed and wouldn’t require a trust fund to start trading.

Then I discovered forex.

I started trading a demo forex account and finally decided that for me to take this seriously, I needed to have some real money on the line.

The best way to go was a micro account, so I opened one right away. The great thing about forex is that you can start with very little money and the transaction costs are very low.

Since then, I have been learning, trading, backtesting, blogging and doing whatever it takes to reach my goal.

I hope that you find this website interesting, educational and possibly even entertaining. My goal for this site is not only to show you my path to becoming a professional trader but to provide you useful information in the hopes that it will help you become the best trader you can be and improve your life in general.

To me, the trading lifestyle is of the best ways to live. Being able to do what I want to do, when I want and not having to worry about how much money or vacation time I have.

To find meaning and experience everything life has to offer and have the time to spend with people who matter.

If nothing else, I hope I can give you some comfort in the fact that others are going through similar experiences and you have to pick yourself up, even when things are at their worst. Trading can also be a very solitary pursuit and I would also like to celebrate with you when things are at their best.
