July 2007 End of Month Numbers

Not a bad month, the markets were really choppy due to all the credit worries. I might have done better by staying out of the market more. Hopefully the markets stabilize and August is a little more predictable.

One thing I learned this month is that I am good at playing the bounces off support levels, but I need to work on profiting from breakouts.

Beginning Balance: $423.63
Ending Balance: $418.66

P/L: -$4.97 or -1.2%

One thing that you will probably see is that I lost a little more than half the time, but I still didn’t do too badly.  I will have to go back later and see if there is a way for me to make more per winning trade than I am making right now so I could possibly lose more than half the time and still be profitable.  However, the bigger the possible gain, the bigger the possible loss and my account would swing a lot harder.
