My Trading Results Thus Far

After my first ever post on this blog, I thought I would follow up with my trading results so far. I have only recently begun to take my trading seriously and review my results.

06/16/06 – Opened a trading account with Xpresstrade, $500 starting balance.

10/11/06 – Did a couple trades, ended with an account balance of $540.17 (+$40.17, +8.0%).

Mostly due to luck and not any discernible trading strategy.

10/16/06 – Withdrew money from Xpresstrade account, lost a total of $30 in transfer fees. I withdrew my money NOT because Xpresstrade is a bad company. In fact, they are an excellent company with an excellent reputation. I have had a futures and options account with them before and they were great. However, the forex platform that they were using was not very good and I wanted a more stable solution.

10/25/06 – Deposited $510.17 to FXSolutions account.

11/30/06 – Ending balance of $505.10 (-$5.40, -1.1%)

12/31/06 – Ending balance of $482.10 (-$23.00, -4.6%)

01/31/07 – Ending balance of $451.10 (-$31.00, -6.4%)

02/28/07 – Ending balance of $441.60 (-$9.50, -2.1%)

03/31/07 – Ending balance of $441.60

No trades. I think I got very discouraged at this point and took the month off.

04/30/07 – Ending balance of $422.48 (-$19.12, -4.3%)

05/31/07 – Ending balance of $390.10 (-$32.49, -7.7%)

Whew, biggest loss yet!

06/30/07 – Ending balance of $423.63 (+$34.28, +8.8%)

Wow! I took a couple of forex trading courses and what a difference that made! I just need to fine tune my technique and stay consistent. I have also begun to take better notes and print out all the charts of my trades as well as pay closer attention to the news.
