Yes, the 911 Turbo and the GT2 are faster cars, but I like the GT3.  It has a cleaner look, in my opinion.  It also only comes with a manual transmission.

I’m not a big fan of that Tiptronic crap anyway.  If I was a professional racer, then I’m sure it is an advantage.

But for everyday driving, I will take a manual transmission any day.  It makes me feel more connected to the road.

It is a private recreational plane that you can put on a trailer and take out on a camping trip or a weekend on the lake.   The video says that it is easy to pilot and can land on water or land.

I’ve been gaining some weight over the last few months and I’ve finally decided that I need to do something about it. I started going back to the gym.

My goal is to lose 10 pounds by the end of this month. Not a monumental goal, but I need to squash it before it gets worse. When I get my exercise, my mind is clearer and I usually trade better.

I have been trying to figure out my trading the last couple of months and been sitting on my ass a little too much. Finding balance is important and I need to get back to that.

Since then just like I predicted I did end  up getting a Japanese bike, a Yamaha.  It’s a great bike and eventually I will buy a bigger one.  The great thing about Japanese bikes is that they are reliable.

I bought it used from a guy who only rode it for about a month.  It had 2,000 miles on it and short shot pipes and a supercharger.  The sound is great, but I would like a bigger engine at some point.  It doesn’t sound quite as good as a Harley, but it has a lot of things going for it.

The thing that I learned from buying this bike is that Harley isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, in my opinion.  I even talked to a guy who used to be a hardcore Harley fan who switched over to Yamaha because they said that they are better bikes.  By looking at his bike, I couldn’t disagree.

Every time I see people walking around decked out in Harley gear, I have to shake my head.  Not like I’m a hardcore biker or anything, but I thought that bikers were about freedom and individuality…not a fashion show.  It’s like buying that butt ass ugly Louis Vuitton stuff because of the brand name.

The bike I do want to get besides another Yamaha is an Indian Chief Deluxe.  If you haven’t heard of Indian, they are credited with being the first American motorcycles.

I just wanted to wish you a Happy Labor Day! Since this is a good break from the markets, I wanted to do a quick post on how trading is like one of my favorite sports, surfing.

When I am living the trading lifestyle full-time, one thing I am going to do is surf more. I want to surf at all those spots around the world that I have only seen on TV.

While I was in the water recently, I got to thinking how surfing is pretty similar to trading. In trading, you are basically catching a price wave for as long as you can.

In surfing, surfers sit in the “lineup” or an area where the waves break. Traders develop different styles to take advantage of different parts of the trend. Although they can be very similar, no two trends or waves are exactly the same.

When it comes down to it, I think that is the primary draw to both activities. There is always that constant challenge because markets and the oceans are always changing.

You get the point. I don’t think that being good at one necessarily translates into being good at the other, but I think it can be helpful to think of the ocean as an analogy to the markets.

To me, the two things to remember in both activities is to respect the risk and that you have to work with the natural ebb and flow of the markets and the ocean.

OK, that is enough philosophy for today, but here is some pretty good video that I got while I was out surfing recently. I took my new Kodak Zx3 waterproof camera out and decided to do a video since it was such a nice day.  It can shoot in 1080p or 720p/60fps HD video.  It is a great little camera and I am looking for every excuse to use it.

As you can see, there weren’t too many waves, but it was a great day to get wet. Sometimes it is nice to just jump in the water and get some exercise.  How do you stay in shape?

I really need to exercise more because I’m probably the heaviest that I have ever been.  It’s not a good feeling, but I have done it before and I can do it again.

England has a commanding 7 to 2 wins against the US in head-to-head play but the US has won the only game when they have met in the World Cup.

I still remember the days of Alexi Lalas, when the US National Team was still struggling to gain a little respect in the world.  They have come a long way, but we will see how far they have really come next month.

My goal is to see the 2014 World Cup in person in 2014.  It will be held in Brazil, that should be an amazing experience!

One of my biggest goals in life is to be able to live what is known as the location independent lifestyle.  What does this mean?

It means that I can make a living from anywhere in the world and live anywhere I want for any amount of time.  Not that I would necessarily want to live a completely nomadic lifestyle, but I just want the option of being able to go anywhere in the world and still make a very good living on my own.

There is so much out there and so little time!

That is one of the primary reasons I have chosen to become a trader.  I can trade from almost anywhere in the world with an internet connection and even some places without internet.

As fun and grand as this sounds, there are some very serious practical considerations that must be taken into account before embarking on such a lifestyle.  For example, say you live in the US but want to live in the South of France for 6 months.  How will you get your mail?  How will you access your money?  How will you pay your bills?  What kind of mobile phone will you need?  How will you get internet access?

And the list goes on and on.

I’m not at the point where I need to be worrying about these things too much because I still need to reach my first goal of trading for a living, but it is something that I am keeping in the back of my mind and whenever I have a little free time, I read some articles about things that need to be taken into consideration.

There isn’t too much information out there, but there is enough to start my research and start building a knowledge base that will be ready when the day comes.  I will let you know what I find in future posts.

Uhhh…no. This is a real flying car and they are already taking orders. The maiden voyage of the Skycar flew from

London to Timbuktu, a journey of about 3,600 miles, proving that the car does work. It is street legal and can actually get up to about 120 mph on the road. Check out the video here:

Since it flies by means of basically a big parachute, there is less risk of a crash than if there were hard wings. Even if the main chute does fail, there is a backup that will deploy in case of an emergency.  According to the website, putting up and taking down the chute can be done by one person and takes about 10 minutes. As they mention in the video, it isn’t an everyday driver, but wouldn’t it be fun just to have one?  It would be great for island hopping here in Hawaii!
