My girlfriend showed me this video the other night and I had to admit, it was really interesting. It is footage from the opening of Charlie Chaplin’s movie “The Circus” at the Manns Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
The clip shows what appears to be an old woman walking past the camera talking on a mobile phone. That is not such a big deal today, but in 1928, what could she be doing? Check it out:
Being a skeptic when it comes to these types of things, I scanned the comments for possible answers to what this could be. The best answer that I could find that it could be some sort of early hearing aid.
This would make sense. Old, crazy lady talking to herself in her new hearing aid? That would be my guess.
What do you think?
