Today I am checking my forex charts from Tallinn, Estonia. There are some definite benefits to trading forex on this side of the world. First of all, the time difference is about 12 hours from Hawaii, making the London open around 9 am.
If I were living here, I would be able to trade during more normal business hours. This could be good and bad but I think for the most part it would be great to trade both the London and NY sessions. In Hawaii, the London session is really easy to trade, but staying up for the NY session is pretty tough.
The weather has been outstanding so far, with sunny days and temperatures around 70 degrees (F) the past couple of days. Since Tallinn is so far north, the sun is setting at about 10 pm during this time of year. I'm sure that I don't want to be around during winter when it is mostly dark.
They recently started using the Euro here, making things a little expensive for us dollar holders. Overall prices aren't too bad though.
One thing that has been interesting is comparing the taste of Coke in Poland, the US and Estonia. Coca-Cola in Poland is less sweet, which I really like. However, they also like to serve it warm. Estonian Coke and US Coke taste the same, really sweet.
Here are some pictures from Estonia:

The most surprising thing that I discovered in Tallinn is that most of the young people speak really good English, in addition to Estonian. We went to one bar and the kid working the door actually knew how to say ‘Merry Christmas' in Hawaiian! That was a trip.
