One big reason that many people get started in trading is to make significant contributions to causes they believe in.
But here's the thing…you don't have to wait to become a successful trader to make a contribution.
Every donation helps, no matter how small.
Start with $1, if that's all you can give.
If many people make a small donation, it adds up!
Even if you don't have money, you can always donate your time.
So why not start contributing now?
A portion of revenue from all Trading Heroes products goes to these causes.
Kiva
Kiva helps people in developing countries build their businesses.
This provides tremendous leverage because the equivalent of a few hundred US dollars can have significant positive impact on a small business. These small businesses can create jobs, stimulate the local economy, and most importantly…can provide freedom for the entrepreneurs who start these businesses.
Compare that to building a business in your home country, where a similar business might need hundreds of thousands of dollars to accomplish a similar goal.
Oceana
As a surfer and a Hawaii native, I care deeply about the health of our oceans.
What I love about Oceana is that they don't just do beach cleanups. They do the actual dirty work of lobbying politicians to create laws to protect our oceans.
Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies – MAPS
The “War on Drugs” has made a few therapeutic substances illegal and it's a shame because they have the potential to improve the mental health of millions of people around the world.
Psychedelics should obviously be used responsibly because there are potential downsides, like with any other substance.
But scientific studies coming out of organizations like MAPS are showing that when they are used in a clinical setting with experienced therapists, the results are nothing short of amazing. They have the power to help people with serious mental issues.
I would like to see more studies on these substances because in our modern always-on world, mental disease is a serious problem. Their studies have been very promising.
If you are doubtful, read these books and watch this movie. They might help you to see the benefits.
Find the Charity That Resonates with You
Those are the charities that I believe in.
But you may want to support other causes.
A good place to find a charity that you believe in is Charity Navigator. They are an organization that researches charities and helps you find the most reputable ones.
Charities are rated on financial health, transparency and accountability.
